Hike 9: Tokul Road to 356th (Snoqualmie to Fall City)

Driving there: From I-90 exit 25 go north on Snoqualmie Parkway for 3.7 miles.  When you cross the RR tracks, turn left onto Railroad Ave, aka Hwy 202.  Turn right onto Tokul Rd.  Follow it 0.6 mi. to free parking in a wide spot on the right side of the road.  The Snoqualmie Valley trail goes under the road in a very large culvert.

The Snoqualmie Valley trail passes under Tokul road.  Excellent echoes in there!
We had a very chilly and misty start to today's hike.  I think Snoqualmie Falls creates some interesting local weather conditions.  Today Junji joined us again.  We hiked a ways in the fog to the Tokul creek trestle.

Tokul creek trestle in the fog.  I think there might be a view from here, but not today.
It would be interesting to explore Tokul creek, but there's a gun range down there so I don't think I'll risk it.  The weather improved as we continued.  There are a lot of clearcuts along here, but the trail is covered by trees.  This would be a nice hike in the fall when the leaves are falling.

Side trips:
1- A short way into this hike there was a trail on the left side.  Where does it go?
2- When I was young I remember a picnic at Tokul creek falls.  I'm not sure exactly where it was, but it was near here.  Road improvements and logging have left things looking different...
3- At the lower end of the trestle a trail goes to the Tokul road.  This may be the way to Tokul Falls.
4- There are several other well used but unsigned trails along here.
